Oceans by Hillsong United

OCEANS
by Hillsong United

"I got to keep breathing. Because tomorrow, the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?" -Tom Hanks from Cast Away
The other night our family was having our usual movie night. The movie was Tom Hanks' "Cast Away", it was about a man who's plane has crashed into the vast ocean. The movie shows how he was able to survive in an island where he was trapped for several years. However, surviving in an island was not the end of it all, one day he decided to pursue the ship that would be his only hope to be saved.
When I imagined Tom Hanks' experience out there alone in the ocean, I was overwhelmed with great fear. As I picture out in my mind how vast an ocean is, it is like an ant in the middle of a large bucket of water. In real life, we have our own oceans to cross and survive too. Not the physical oceans like the Pacific nor the Atlantic Ocean that we knew but the daily struggles that we encounter. Oceans like failing health, rejections, disappointments, insecurities, loneliness, lost of a love one or just basically feeling lost and not loved. If we don't have that ship that would save us from these oceans we would drift away or worst we would be drowned.
Do you remember the story when Peter was asking Jesus if he could walk in water with him? (Matthew 14:22-33) Peter asked Jesus if it was really Him on the water, he would want to come to Him. However, when Peter was in the water walking, he got scared and started to panic when he saw the wind coming to him and soon he began to sink. He cried to Jesus to help him in his situation. This story is a reminder that as long we have Jesus by our side there would be no oceans too great for us to cross. We need a ship that would help us to survive in the oceans, and this ship is called "Jesus". Lastly, may we not be like Peter who was too focused on trying to save himself that he lose sight of Jesus who was the life boat of his life.

I hope that you will like my piano cover of Oceans!

Oceans

by Hillsong

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

Getting Up

Do you have an experience that you fell down on the floor or tripped? I had. Me, my brother, and my mom were going to fetch our dad...
