Proverbs to Ponder: Going Against the Grain

Meaning:                                                                                                                                                        The proverb "going against the grain" means that a person is doing something abnormal to his/her nature. It also means to do something that the majority wouldn't usually do.


Example:
      It was going against the grain for Timon when he ate a snail, which he considered a bug.
