The proverb "a change is as good as a rest" means that doing something dissimilar as the thing you usually do will be much more enjoyable than resting.
Example:
My old job in the factory was checking the boxes of jars. Now, it is to check the boxes of cartons. Hey, a change is as good as a rest.
