The proverb "many hands make light work" means that if many people work together on a hard task that proves difficult to only one person, then the task will be finished easily and quickly.
Example:
When the 55-foot-long Christmas tree was being prepared in the center of New York City, all the citizens started helping out with the preparations. The Christmas tree was prepared five days earlier than the scheduled day. Many hands make light work.
