I LIFT MY HANDS
by Chris Tomlin
"Arrrrrrgh! How come I keep on making mistakes?! I'm too
tired of this!" I exhaustedly said to myself. Have you ever been in this
situation wherein you felt so tired and had the thought of giving up? Or
experienced where you gave your very best in a task but just can’t seem to finish
it?
I
do remember of an instance when I faced this kind of dilemma. My mom assigned
me a new piano piece that I need to study as part of my Music Project that I
need to present in my portfolio review. Upon seeing the song I am supposed to
study and memorize, I find it a bit difficult and challenging given the short
span of time I had during that time. Every day I would spend time to practice
the song piece. A few days away from my
deadline, pressure, frustration and lack of motivation n were slowly creeping up
inside me! I couldn’t do this anymore! Feeling
very helpless, I prayed to God to give me strength and patience to complete my
song. I lay down all my frustrations to Him and admit that I couldn’t do it by
my own.
In
this song “I Lift My Hands”, it reminds us of who God is in our lives and what He can do as
long as we allow Him to work on our troubles, tiredness, frustrations, sicknesses,
or anything that worries us. There is nothing God can't do and there is nothing we can do without God!
Hope you enjoy listening to my piano cover of the song "I Lift My Hands"!
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1-3
"I Lift My Hands"
by Chris Tomlin
Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me
So let faith arise
Let faith arise
Open my eyes
Open my eyes
Let faith arise
Open my eyes
Open my eyes
You are faithful, God, forever
